Michelle Bryck
Registered Social Worker
Michelle is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She holds a Bachelor of Social Work Degree through the University of Manitoba, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ottawa.
In addition to her clinical training, Michelle has a strong interest in physical health and wellness. She holds a College Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Algonquin College and incorporates a holistic, whole-person perspective into her counselling practice, recognizing the important connection between physical and mental well-being.
Michelle brings extensive experience supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health concerns across diverse settings, including schools, community mental health services, probation and parole programs, and Indigenous communities. She currently works as a Student Counsellor in an elementary school, where she supports children aged 5-13 in developing personal, social, and academic goals. In this role, she provides both individual and group counselling, fosters emotional regulation, and promotes the development of healthy and effective coping strategies.
Her practice incorporates a person-centered therapy approach while incorporating a variety of methods including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), strength-based, mindfulness-based and solution-focused therapy. Her work is rooted in a holistic, trauma-informed approach that respects each client’s lived experiences, recognizes their strengths, and supports their potential for growth.
Michelle supports clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem challenges, body image concerns, anger management and life transitions. She creates a calm, collaborative environment where clients can reflect on their inner experiences while also examining how stress, daily habits, and physical health may be influencing their mental wellbeing.
Originally from the Greater Toronto Area, Michelle has spent the past 12 years living and working in Red Lake and Dryden. Outside of her professional role, she is a mother of two who enjoys playing hockey, running, and spending time with family and friends.
Michelle’s education, experience, and compassionate, holistic approach enable her to provide thoughtful guidance and meaningful support as clients work toward greater self-awareness and empowerment.
Michelle will begin offering services virtually, by phone, and in person at the Dryden office mid July.
