Alex is a qualifying registered psychotherapist through the CRPO. She has experience working in school mental health, community mental health and in Indigenous communities.
Alex holds a Masters of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University (August 2023) and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). In previous studies, she was interested in criminology and gender and women’s studies. She currently works in a small school as the mental health support for ages 4-18; she enjoys helping young adults and children establish and reach their goals. During her practicum placement, she worked with adults, where she supported clients through big and small life transitions, anxiety, navigating relationships, creating boundaries, and self-compassion.
I am dedicated to providing a non-judgmental, authentic, and compassionate space. I emphasize sharing your story at your own pace through a client-centered, trauma and culturally informed lens while using valuable tools and skills of solution-focused, narrative, cognitive behavioural therapy, and other relevant approaches. I have experience working with grief and loss, anxiety, high expectations (from yourself and others), depression, traumatic experiences, and Indigenous culture. I also attended DBT training and presently learning the EFIT model to self-destructive behaviours with teens.
