Allyson holds a master’s degree in Social Work and is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
With 30 years of experience in the mental health field, she has worked with adults, children, families, and communities.
Allyson’s practice is grounded in a holistic, trauma-informed perspective. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic methods, including EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Allyson recognizes the unique cultural and historical experiences of Indigenous people, which call for a bi-cultural approach. She incorporates the teachings of the medicine wheel to address intergenerational trauma and systematic oppression. Allyson has been gifted traditional sacred items through ceremony to help.
Allyson’s goal is to provide a non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their feelings. She offers support and understanding to help clients develop coping strategies and move forward in their healing journey.
Allyson’s calendar is currently open to adults aged 18 and over for individual therapy sessions (in-person, virtual, phone).
