Area of Study: Educational Psychology Specialization: Counselling PsychologyRachelle Livingstone is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and brings almost 20 years of experience working in the counselling field. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan and is currently focused on providing counselling to adults aged 18 and older.
Rachelle has extensive experience in the developmental field, with a particular focus on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). She has also worked in Indigenous communities, healthcare organizations, and educational settings. These experiences have provided her with a broad understanding of the diverse circumstances, strengths, and challenges that can affect mental health and overall well-being.
Rachelle is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed training in a wide range of therapeutic approaches and areas of practice. Her training includes brief solution-focused interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and grief and loss. She has completed training and certificate programs through organizations including the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI), PESI, and Edu-Therapy. Her trauma-informed training includes the CTRI certificate program, Crisis Prevention and Intervention – Trauma Counselling & Support, and Reclaiming Resilience: Rewind Trauma Training. She has also completed or is completing Janina Fisher’s Complex Trauma Certification Training (CCTP/CCPT-II), Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma Certification Training: Body-Based, Polyvagal & Neurobiological Techniques for Mind-Body Healing, the Ultimate Grief Treatment Toolbox Certification Course, and the Nervous System Regulation Training Bundle, which focuses on polyvagal, somatic, and mindfulness interventions for trauma, anxiety, and emotion regulation. She has also completed training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Rachelle has developed a strong foundation in Indigenous wellness, cultural safety, and culturally responsive approaches to care. Her training includes First Nations, Inuit, and Métis wellness; Decolonizing Healing Practices through CTRI; Indigenous wellness through ECHO; the White Bison Medicine Wheel 12-Step Facilitator Training; the IPHCC Indigenous Cultural Safety Course; Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy; San’yas Cultural Safety Training; and additional learning through Laurier University and Anokiigamig. She has also completed training in Ecotherapy through an Indigenous Lens and Walk and Talk Therapy through Cherry Tree Counselling.
In addition to her counselling practice, Rachelle has completed the Mental Health First Aid Facilitator training for the MHFA Certification and Essentials programs. She has also completed ASIST T4T facilitator training and is currently a provisional trainer while completing the required number of workshops alongside an experienced co-facilitator who has upgraded to Version 12.
Rachelle has completed the CASWE-ACFTS Field Instructor Course, a Clinical Supervision Certificate through Adler, and the required clinical supervision training through the CRPO. She is able to provide clinical supervision.
Rachelle strives to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed care while honoring Indigenous healing practices. Her approach is person-centered, strength-based, collaborative, and holistic. She works alongside each individual to recognize their strengths, build resilience, and support their mental health and overall wellness in a way that respects their unique experiences, values, culture, and goals.
