Rochell is a proud band member of Naotkamegwanning (Whitefish Bay) First Nation in the Treaty #3 area. She is registered with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a Social Service Worker and Drug and Alcohol Counsellor diploma, a Bachelor of Social Work degree (Native Human Services), and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Rochelle is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. She believes that every individual has unique strengths, experiences, and goals, which she draws from multiple modalities to meet each client’s specific needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Rochelle’s practice integrates evidence-based informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. Her counselling style will always be rooted in a client centered approach meaning you are the expert of your life. She will be completing her EMDR basic training in this year and is open to taking on referrals for that to begin building rapport.
Rochelle worked with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, grief and loss, workplace stress, relationship challenges, and other mental health concerns. Her goal is to create a safe space that fosters a non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences and move toward greater well-being.
As both a Social Worker and Psychotherapist (Qualifying) she recognizes the importance of understanding the whole person, including the impact of family, culture, community, and lived experiences. She is committed to walking alongside clients with curiosity, compassion, and respect as they build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting positive change.
